Supermarket chain Wegmans [1] has recalled over 1,000 pounds of chicken [2], according to the USDA. The items were produced outside approved hours of operation and were therefore unable to receive proper federal inspection before being distributed. If you recently bought chicken from Wegmans in Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or Virginia, here's the list of products that have been recalled:
- Approximately 1-lb. vacuum-sealed packages containing "Wegmans Italian Flavored Chicken Breast Cutlet" with a use-by date of 1/24/2016
- Approximately 1-lb. vacuum-sealed packages containing "Wegmans Brown Sugar Barbecue Seasoned Chicken Breast Cutlet" with a use-by date of 1/15/2016
- 3-lb. vacuum-sealed packages containing "Wegmans Garlic & Fennel Whole Chicken Roaster" with a use-by date of 1/13/2016
- 1-lb. vacuum-sealed packages containing "Wokery Sherry Chicken 27482" with a use-by date of 1/13/2016
The at-risk items were produced on Jan. 3, 2016, and include the "EST. or P-7567" USDA mark. No illnesses have been reported, but customers should not consume the products and instead return them for a full refund.
