What Did the Secret Garden Look Like Before Ramsay's Transformation?

What Did the Secret Garden Look Like Before Ramsay's Transformation?

After such a rewarding episode a few week's ago, last night's Kitchen Nightmares was a disappointing season finale. It was your typical kitchen nightmare with an egocentric French chef unwilling to take Ramsay's suggestions, a filthy kitchen full of rotting vegetables, moldy shelves, and an outdated, horribly-decorated dining room. The restaurant was so ugly Ramsay said it reminded him of a funeral parlor. I thought it looked like a dusty, old antique shop. What did you think? What did The Secret Garden look like before Ramsay's modern transformation?

I think Mr Gordon he's a good Chef, but what i understand after seeing this!! is hes a good chef with dirty tung!! I mean what ever people can make mistakes, but you can never talk to them in that why or menchin where they came from! I mean the part when he was screaming at the French chef and calling him A PICK and some French FUCKERS!! He just went out of the line of his job, maybe he though he came from the paradise country?? Well..hes is a profesional person in his job,But very dirty tung and i think if you want people to respect you,you also hould show them some respect even they made a mistake!! AND DON'T PALY THE RASIST CHIT!! Michel was doing well, just was very busy for him and it can happened to the best Chef de cuisin in the world!!. I do give all my respect to you Mr Michel. Thnk you.

I LOVED the old dining room--well, except for the ugly cartoony chef statues. It felt like, well, a *dining* room in a home. I wanted to sit right down and eat dinner. The new look made the place look generic, like every other restaurant in the world. I found it boring and uninviting. Usually I like Gordon's make overs, but this one was a real miss for me. As for the relationship between Michel and Gordon--it was like watching Britain and France fight the Hundred Year War in five days.

I'm too busy for tv these days. Sorry.
That dude was an arrogant idiot. I'm sure he's back to his original menu by now.

I haven't seen this one yet, but I'm sure I will soon. I really like the UK version much more too. US networks are so hellbent on putting all of the reality shows into the same cliched formats with the annoying overdramatic narrator. With the UK version, Gordon narrates himself, you get a good solid hour to really get to know the people and places involved and I like when he comes back to check on their success (or lack thereof). Plus, I like that on the UK version, Gordon Ramsey is no easier on the people than he is on the US restaurants. But generally speaking, the UK restauranteurs seem to give him more respect and deference. After all, the guy IS trying to help you SAVE your restaurant! Is Fox only choosing the real blatant jerks to upp the drama quotient on the show?

I agree, bluesarahlou. I like the BBC version better too. The best part of the BBC version is GR does a follow-up with the restaurant a few weeks later. It's interesting to see if they stuck with the new menu and if there have been any staff changes. In any case, I love GR!

with all that floral it did look like a grandmother's house - and i think that the simplicity that he brought to it was a nice touch. too bad michel didn't have it in him to 'bend' and realize that maybe gordon knows what he's talking about

I didn't see anything fantastic about this episode...there were much better, more productive episodes this season that should've been the season ender. I'm all for a kinder, gentler Gordon. That's why I like the BBC version more than the American version....

The Giant Teacups....gaaaaaah! Michel was just "crusted" in his beliefs, I didnt think this episode had the charm of the other ones, i actually didnt give a rip about the secret garden or its employees like i have in the past with other chefs/owners.

all of the first 4 choices wrapped in one. it was utterly ridiculous. what was so disappointing about the finale? i LOVE GR. he is THE man. Michel was a sh!t for brains.
