We always have champagne with appetizers that include crab tidbits and shrimp cocktail for Christmas Eve. For Christmas day this year we are having herbed turkey, honey baked ham, fruit salad, cheese tamales and a couple different salads. If that isnt enough I am baking a caramel layer cake for dessert.

This will be the second Christmas that I'll be spending with my beau's family. He's from a German and Swedish background so his family has a Swedish Smorgasbord. It's basically a big buffet including things like swedish meatballs and seafood dishes. I'll be baking all sorts of desserts tomorrow to bring to the celebration. My family has more of a Christmas breakfast tradition. Every year we have Yeast pancakes which are very fluffy thick pancakes made with yeast. They are eaten with butter and powdered sugar speinkled on top (any kind of syrup ruins the flavour). I'll be making them for my boyfriend and his family on Christmas Eve morning this year. I love traditions

Other! I don't have a "traditional" Christmas anymore, since I no longer go home to spend it with my family. My friends and I have started our own tradition of making enchiladas for Christmas dinner. This year we're making two pans- one red and one green and calling them "grincheladas"! Yeah, we're cool.

We eat cornish game hens. My mom marinates them in all kinds of loveliness, with rosemary being the standout. Each guest has one, and it feels so special, and tastes sooo good!!

Pasta, turkey, mashed potatoes, etc. I'm gaining weight just thinking about it all, lol. Can't wait to go home for Christmas. :)

At home in Australia, we usually have a cold buffet with: quail's legs poached trout cold goose king prawns new potatoes with pesto leafy green salad lots of homemade mayonnaise asparagus then for pudding we'll have cold Chrsitmas pudding, with homemade raspberry or vanilla icecream, and fresh raspberries In the UK, we seem to have a roast chicken and a fillet of beef with the usual trimmings of Yorkshire pudding, brussel sprouts, peas, carrots, cauliflower cheese MMMM and proper homemade gravy! Then pudding is hot Christmas pud, and maybe trifle *blech*. And lots of booze!

It's whatever my mom cooks. She makes 5 entrees (I'm not kidding.) So I check out everything that she's made and go for the one I can't cook or find at a restaurant. It's usually a Filipino dish - like ox tail or tamarind soup. But there's always turkey or roast or ham. I'll eat that the next day.

I do not know yet, but I am a vegan, and will be celebrating it with my boyfriend's family, who happen to be vegan too, so it will be something delicious cruelty free :D

Oddly enough, we don't usually cook dinner on Christmas. We make Christmas Eve dinner. After my grandpa passed away (years ago), we stopped doing turkey because he was the only one who really liked it then...the rest of us felt like we'd just had turkey and didn't want it again. We have ham and golden potato bake (divine!) usually, but we're known to have enchiladas on occasion. Last year, we had raviolis! And we just eat the leftovers on Christmas Day. It's getting so close now! I'm excited!

We start of with various types of appetizers (my favorite being mini-chimichangas) then ultimately sit down to dinner. Tamales, some sort of roast and salmon. That's coupled with mashed potatoes, vegetables... and whatever sort of sides sounded interesting at the time.

Prime Rib and Ham on top of all the other filipino dishes... It's buffet style and it usually depends on who prepares the menu (it's potluck as well) but we always have prime rib and ham...oh I can't wait...

I'm Puerto Rican so the big party is the night before. Every year we have pernil (roasted pork shoulder), arroz con gandules (rice and pigeon peas), and pasteles (kind of like a banana dumpling filled with seasoned pork. There is other stuff as well. For Christmas we eat the night before's left overs for breakfast, lunch and dinner. LOL!!!
