I've been enjoying a salad made with arugula, grapefruit, and avocado with a champange vinegar vinagrette....Yum!

I haven't figured out how to keep the baby greens from getting slimy if I don't use them the day I buy them. I usually prefer romaine or butter because they're hardier and I don't have to serve them the minute I buy them.

I agree that there is nothing like a nice wedge of iceberg. Why put weeds on the table to eat. Iceberg worked when I grew up and it is still the one.

Ahhhh iceberg - brings me back to school lunches with the blocks of stacked iceberg lettuce drowning in never-ending thousand island dressing.

I hate the spring mixes - sometimes you'll get a bite that tastes like weeds, though I love romaine, spinach, and butter lettuce!

i use all of the above depending on the dressing. Vinaigrettes for more delicate lettuces such as red leaf and creamy dressings for romaine or iceberg..I also like arugula, butter, or boston...

I didn't know people still used iceberg for salads.
