hills, St. Patrick's Day got so big in America because of the large Irish immigration into the US and the following discrimination against Irish-Smericans. The Irish wanted to show their pride in their heritage. Unfortunately, the day has turned into a psycho pub crawl. My dad (100% Irish) calls it "amateur night". In Baltimore we celebrate it "all f**in year long" (that's a quote, not a gratuitous curse) so my fam will probably go out for some whiskeys and Guinness but leave when the college kids come to the bar. Also Irish people (in my experience) don't drink green beer (save the green for the clothes) and don't do "car bombs" (curdles a good beer) but we do like a good drink and a good laugh and a good bit of music to dance stiffly to!
