It's official: Good Eats is returning! Alton Brown shared a cryptic video on his Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter that teased the announcement of a comeback. The 40-second video, simply captioned, "It's time . . . ," shows Alton entering a basement and unearthing all of his Good Eats kitchenware that's gathering dust and covered in cobwebs, including the red flame mixer and the iconic sock puppets. With spooky music in the background, Alton looks around at all of his old pieces from the set, exhales a big sigh, and says, "It's time," before the video goes black.
It's time... [2]
Alton has been hinting at the idea of a Good Eats return [3] since last November and called the reboot "the digital stepchild of Good Eats [4] for the internet" earlier this year. This new video is the closest Alton has come to revealing all the details, and fans are still eagerly awaiting the news of when exactly the show is returning and where they can watch it. One fan on Facebook commented the question everyone is wondering: "What format is this coming to [5]? Food network? Netflix? Hulu?" And Alton responded, "More info coming soon." And rest assured, this is not a joke. "I don't joke about things like this," Alton wrote in another reply [6] to a fan's comment.
We will update this post as more information becomes available, but for now, let's just celebrate the fact that one of the best cooking shows of all time is making a long-overdue comeback!
