Simple Tip: Wipe Batter Off Pan Before Baking

Whenever I make cupcakes, it's inevitable that some of the batter drips onto the baking pan. Before placing the cupcakes in the oven, I always make sure to wipe up this dropped batter. Why? Well, it's easier to clean now than it is after it's been baked to a crisp on the pan! Here's how I do it: wet a paper towel with a little water until slightly damp. Using the wet part, wipe the pan clean, being careful not to dip the paper towel into the cupcakes. Remove all the dropped batter and then bake.

I like to use a 1/4 or 1/3 c measuring cup to fill the cupcake liners. One of them is the perfect amount, I just can't remember which. Ever since I saw this post, I've been wanting cupcakes. I might go and make some right now. :)

I use an ice cream scoop to measure the batter into the cups. It's a lot less messy than just using a spoon. I also make sure to wipe the pan off before I cook never occurred to me not to, I guess.

Or... better yet, eat all of the batter before it makes it to the oven. You use less energy (don't have to preheat the oven), less paper, and less dishes (cupcake pan and/or frosting stuff). :)
