World famous chef Heston Blumenthal, of England's The Fat Duck (which is currently ranked as the #2 restaurant in the world), is creating a new experience for his lucky customers. When they order his new dish "Sound of the Sea," they'll also get to use an iPod to experience soothing ocean tracks while eating. I dunno guys, what do you think? It sounds stupid. I can't believe I'm saying this, but this guy takes food way too seriously. What happened to good conversation- I don't want to listen to an iPod while I'm eating with a dining companion.

Bad idea...wasn't there a post sometime last week on FitSugar that said you should not listen to music or watch tv when you eat because it causes you to eat quite a bit more then you would otherwise eat? Plus how many people fine dine alone? Unless you are, wouldn't you rather enjoy the sounds of your company rather then the sounds of the ocean??

It's not original. Elbulli in Spain has been doing ways before Heston came on the scene. Heston's food tastes good I get that but I don't think his food tastes any better than some of Jamie Oliver's dishes.

This ranking of restaurants, I would say be objective, Why the fat duck is better than the river cafe?? Because Heston plays with food instead of cooking it and that's meant to be cooler? I understand he breaks the boudaries but he's had enough press. I'm sorry I take this ranking with a grain of salt. I love a good mash and rich pasta.
