Ben & Jerry's Dropped 3 New Nondairy, Nut-Free Flavors, and I'm Losing My Chill

Jan 28 2020 - 3:47pm

I don't want to assume Ben & Jerry's created its new dairy-free ice cream flavors [1] especially for my household, but it sure feels that way. On Jan. 28, the beloved dessert brand released three flavors — "Milk" & Cookies, Crème Brûlée Cookie, and Mint Chocolate Cookie — all made with sunflower butter. With my lactose intolerance and my husband's nut allergy, these pints have made their way to the top of our grocery list.

Ben & Jerry's is the first national brand to use sunflower butter [2] in its nondairy desserts [3], instead of the usual coconut milk, almond milk, or oat milk. If you're familiar with the brand's selection of dairy-free ice creams already, then you know they're equally as creamy as its cow-milk offerings. You don't have to have an intolerance, an allergy, or a desire to eat vegan to enjoy a carton (or two!). Hear the freezer calling your name? You can find these newest pints for around $6 at your local Scoop Shop or wherever Ben & Jerry's is sold. Keep reading for a breakdown of what to expect from each flavor.
