So, uh, can we fast forward to next Summer already? Because Bud Light just announced plans to release its very own branded spiked seltzer, and we're already dreaming about sipping a can while sunbathing at the beach. Slated to hit shelves in the beginning of 2020, Bud Light Seltzer comes in four flavors: Lemon Lime, Black Cherry, Mango, and Strawberry. And no, beer is not involved even though it's made by a beer company: each can gets its 5 percent ABV content from fermented cane sugar, just like any other hard seltzer [1]. The only other ingredients are sparkling water and natural fruit flavors.
Bud Light Seltzer will come in variety 12-packs, single-flavor 12-packs, and single-flavor 25-ounce cans, joining a host of popular hard seltzer brands like White Claw [2], Bon & Viv, and Truly [3]. Similar to its soon-to-be competitors, Bud Light's version caters to health-conscious drinkers, containing just 100 calories, 2 grams of carbs, and less than 1 gram of sugar per can. Will you be trying these boozy, fizzy sips come next year?
