Disneyland's Day of the Dead Ice Cream Sandwich Is Made With Multicolored Pan Dulce!

Oct 12 2019 - 4:35pm

If Disney's Halloween treats [1] are already making your mouth water, then prepare yourself for the park's first Día de Los Muertos [2] Pan Dulce Ice Cream Sandwich. Yep, in honor of Day of the Dead [3], Disneyland [4] has taken an entire concha and stuffed it with dulce de leche ice cream!

The frozen treat, available for $8 at Frontierland's Rancho del Zocalo in Disneyland, is sprinkled in cinnamony churro streusel crumbles and topped with whipped cream, cajeta — a goat-milk-based caramel syrup — and an edible white chocolate sugar skull for decoration, according to Disney Food Blog [5]. So, are you hungry yet?

Following the Mexican tradition of using bright colors as a celebration of life, the shell-like concha breads are also covered in a crunchy rainbow sugar crust, which makes them look both delicious and totally Insta-worthy. Keep scrolling to take a closer look at the beautiful ice cream [6] sandwiches ahead.
