Breakfast is about to get a whole lot sweeter [1], thanks to Kellogg's. The food brand just revealed that its Eggo Waffle Cereal is making a comeback after an agonizing seven-year hiatus, and something tells me Eleven from Stranger Things [2] is doing a happy dance over in Hawkins to celebrate. Starting Nov. 24, the nostalgic morning treat will be available at Walmart stores in two new flavors: Maple Flavored Homestyle and Blueberry. No judgement if you feel compelled to drizzle a bit of syrup on top of your bowl before devouring it.
What sparked this out-of-the-blue return to shelves so many years later, you ask? A seemingly random fan tweet did, actually. Back in July, a Twitter user named Annie mentioned the Eggo handle imploring the brand to bring back [3] its bite-sized waffle cereal in the OG Maple Syrup flavor. Eggo shared her message [4] with its followers and declared that her wish would be their command if it received 10,000 retweets. Not-so-surprisingly, it raked in the necessary retweets, proving that the "ask and ye shall receive" tactic does work after all. Now please excuse me while I incessantly tweet at tons of candy and cereal companies begging them to bring back more of my childhood faves.
