Phyllo is so hard to work with. Every Christmas my family and I get together and make tons of candy and baklava is usually something we always make. It's so good but so aggravating to make. I always get stuck making it because I'm the youngest and everyone else hates to do it. They just like to eat it.

i hate phyllo dough, all that butter in between the sheets. give me easy puff pastry anytime! lol. with phyllo you can make a bunch of things, you should post a baklava recipce, that's the only thing i can think of. that and the spinach feta triangles. but lol the tomato pie.......i would've layered more phyllo for the base and not even bothered covering it. but hey, cooking is all about experiments. now if you want a reaaaal tomato pie, you can't go wrong with paula deen's http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_22716,00.html

my mother in law has ben teaching me how to roll out my own phyllo dough, it's supper difficult, but she's a machine. We generally use the really thin dough for making baklava, and the thicker ones for making savour layered treats with spinach, cheese, potatoe or meat.

Awwww, thanks Yum! I (poorly) chronicled last night's Peking Duck feast just for you girls. Tonight, it's a private Szechuan kitchen and I will embarrass myself once again by making everyone wait to eat until I've taken pictures of every dish. The Phyllo creations look delicious, btw. So I may just have to start coming over to your apartment when you make these non-office treats. Seriously. I'm the biggest 52 WoB fan ever. Ev-er.

mmm... looks GOOD! :) We've experimented with the Phyllo dough but a looong time ago. My bf and I would make a spinach pie. We haven't had it in a while though... You've inspired me to make it again! We used several sheets of the phyllo dough and then made a spinach mixture with onions, feta cheese, FF cottage cheese, eggs... I think I'll make it - I just need to dig up the recipe again. And then I'll post it up :)

I love the idea of the phyllo in the ramekin - I bet I could come up with some different ideas to fill them with. Great idea, Yum!
