Okay, first off, Bordain made the funniest comment EVER for TV regarding Brian's dish: "that lobster had the texture of dolls head." HonestMuffin, why the Casey-hating? For one thing, everyone should keep in mind that we can't TASTE the food they've prepared, so we really have to put our faith in the (very qualified) judges' hands. Bordain and co are looking for chefs willing to take risks. Casey has been doing this throughout the competition. If you notice, Hung is ALWAYS relying on traditional dishes (in terms of elimination challenges, he does go crazy on the quickfires). Often to a fault. Fried chicken, cream cheese on a cucumber slice, anyone? I'm rooting for Casey to beat Hung in a final showdown, though I admit I'm not BETTING on it. I think Hung can pull it off if he stops playing it safe all the time. Though Casey has some stuff up her sleeve (even if she is slow with the knife skills)...

I was so shocked by this - just as shocked as I was when Tre left; I was sure those two were going all the way. And, why is Brian still there? He seems to be the weakest one of the bunch in every challenge, but just good enough to skate by each time - hardly impressive. And, that judge Tom - what a jerk! I thought he was a lot nastier than Bourdain, and has been crabby all season. I refuse to believe that CJ's dish was the worst ever; I've seen things on this show that looked much worse! He seems to be making such a point of NOT being Tim Gunn at the beginning of each season - a pity because Tim Gunn is such a great addition to Project Runway, that the lack of a decent, nice, helpful person "in charge" on Top Chef is really highlighted. I watch each week, and have watched every season, but I watch with a remote control in my hand so I can skip over "the drama" Bravo manufactures each episode. Just talk about the cooking, Bravo! Less of the Grade-School Drama and more Professional Chef At Work material!

I still don't understand why everyone wanted to do fish. You rarely see fish on a plane, there's a reason for that. I'm almost thinking that Padma is like me and had a bit of a crush on CJ, that's why she was so sad.

I too am surprised that CJ left...I thought it would be Sara, just because I don't think she's made much of an impression all season. I'm rooting for Dale since he's a Chicago guy, but I think Brian could take it. Just a guess.

I'm not that surprised that CJ left, though I thought Sarah needed to go before CJ. CJ has been pretty inconsistent with his cooking over the entire show. I don't think this is the first time he has faced elimination. I hope Hung goes next and I think, of all those left, Casey is probably the one who will take it all if she can maintain her consistancy.

I'm rooting for Casey and Dale... Hung is a jerk. He clearly knocked over the truffle oil.

I love Bourdain, but yeah, we expect him to be...Bourdain. He's a self-proclaimed jerk. Sort of like Hung! I think that CJ knows Bourdain well enough that it wasn't a personal slight, and that it obviously wasn't a comment on his work as a whole. Everyone there knew that cooking on an airplane for the first time wasn't going to be easy, and there was bound to be some problems. I think Padma was so sad because CJ was so flattering to her when she woke him up! That was so adorable. It was nice seeing Padma actually melting away some of that icy exterior for once. I will miss CJ's towering presence. I am surprised that he's gone already. His dish couldn't have been worse that the "watermelon gnocci" from last season. Ewww.

Okay, I just read Anthony Bourdain's blog, and I think that "insta-boners" might be the funniest (albeit slightly offensive) word I've heard in a long time...

So sad, so sad...after Tre left, CJ definitely became my favorite...I have no idea who will win out of the ones who are left. Casey has won the last 2 challenges and got major praise from Bourdain, which is rare, and Hung, as much as it pains me to say it because he is a royal pain in the *ss, will probably take it all. How sweet was CJ when he lost, though? Totally classy, thanking the panel like he did. What a good guy.

"Do you really think that Tom Collichio of CRAFTSTEAK is going to be impressed by a freakin' SIRLOIN" That is my favorite quote from Bourdains Blog! I am SO FREAKING UPSET that my CJ went home. Gawd Lordy was i upset, I was in the kitchen hanging on Padmas words..I was chanting "not CJ, not CJ, not CJ" and i hear "CJ pack your knives and..." ARGHHHHHGHGHGH! I also thought the "wake up" breakfast scene was staged. and let me tell you why. I dont know one red blooded male that doesnt directly enter in the bathroom to take a sh*t for 30 minutes after they wake up.

I can't believe CJ was booted -- I was expecting Sarah to make an exit. How she's stuck around this whole time is seriously beyond me.

CJ's departure was shocking. I thought he would be in the top 4 as well. His leaving really has me wondering who is going to win. I don't get how people like CJ and Tre are gone and Brian is still there.

Seraphim, I enjoyed CJ too. He seemed like such a funny, down-to-earth guy.

I loved CJ and I thought he would stick around till the final four too. Some of the criticism was really stinging, especially for someone who has been doing consistently good throughout the show, I was sad to see him go like this. But likewise, I was touched that Padma found him so difficult to let go.

BOOOOO!!!! Im boycotting this season for good... Casey only won because everyone else sucked so bad AGAIN and now Cj is gone because of pretentious Anthony Bourdain. That guy is soo full of himself it makes me really sad that they let him put in his 2 cents.... Ugh, if Casey becomes Top Chef the show is ruined.

great review! i am rooting for casey and hung! i have a huge crush on bourdain, so i love his badass comments, and i expect it. :) still thinking they made a huge mistake in eliminating trey! sarah or brian will be the next to go. (i hope)

I was surprised CJ left this episode, but I dont see him as the winner anyway. I am still shocked and sad that Tre left, so at this point I dont care much who wins, although I am now rooting for Hung.

I was so surprised that even Tom was so mean. You expect it from Anthony, but not Tom, telling CJ that his broccoli was the worst dish he's experienced in the 3 seasons on the show. I can't imagine how that made him feel. I know they need to be honest but it seemed like Tom and Anthony were holding nothing back AT ALL! I really value Tom's opionion (even read his blog) and I'm anxious to see what his reasoning is for his abrupt behavior. I still thought Trey would still be around though... :(
