Here's What Giada De Laurentiis Really Eats in a Day
Have you ever wondered what Giada De Laurentiis really eats in a day? We have too, so POPSUGAR got the scoop — straight from the original source. According to Giada herself, a typical day of meals starts around 6 a.m. and ends around 7 p.m., and it features everything from energy-boosting breakfasts to cheesy, family-friendly dinners (yes, pasta is included). The best part is you can get all the recipes on Giada's newly launched personal site, Giadzy, and the Food Network host has provided all of her go-tos in the list ahead. Keep reading to see what Giada eats at each time throughout the day, and be prepared to re-create the recipes for yourself at home — because you might not be able to cook with Giada, but you can certainly cook like her.
6 a.m.: Brown Rice Breakfast Bowl
"I like to start my mornings with an Americano and some type of grain. Usually I go for this olive oil oatmeal, but lately I've been opting for this brown rice and olive oil duo. I love the fat and decadence of the olive oil, and best of all, it fills me up and gives me energy to start the day! On the weekends, though, it's pancakes all the way. These fluffy lemon buttermilk pancakes are Jade's favorite!"
10 a.m.: Snack Time
"If I'm in my restaurant or testing recipes for my cookbook, I'm constantly tasting as I cook. A few bites of pasta here, a brownie there . . . it's always different! I keep roasted vegetables and pasta in the fridge to snack on, too. You never know when hunger will strike, and I like to have healthy options that are easy to grab."
12 p.m.: Candied Lemon and Arugula Salad
"For lunch, I always try to get in something green. I love arugula and this salad recipe is the one I reach for 90 percent of the time. The dressing is from my restaurant, but it's simple enough to use every day. I'll usually do some sort of protein to fill me up too."
2 p.m.: Energy-Boosting Trail Mix, Nuts, or Dark Chocolate
"I always have nuts, dried fruit, and chocolate around. I'll either do a trail mix, or just nosh on them by themselves. Sometimes I think I'm going to turn into an almond!"
7 p.m.: Chocolate
"I have a sweet tooth, so more often than not, my day ends in chocolate. I like my avocado-chocolate mousse because it's light and easy, but I'll also go straight for the dark chocolate. I have a pretty serious chocolate stash in my fridge and I'm constantly picking up new bars to try!"
