I just recently discovered the dollar store by my house, and I wondered where it had been all my life. I got shower caps and a new ironing board cover!

Dollar stores are the best! I moved away from home and into my first apartment last fall, and bought quite a few kitchen utensils there - they are all still holding up great, and I got them for much less than they would have cost at a big box store. Same goes for gift wrap and lots of little home decor items - tealights, candles, candle holders etc... I've been meaning to head down to the dollar store and look for some patio decor items since it's that time of year! :)

I always go to dollar store at Christmas for gift wrapping. That stuff can be so expensive other places!

They have a lot of name brand stuff at my local 99 cent store (in California) like Scotch brand reflective tape I just bought the other day. The other great find was a rubber mallet. I have wrapped a regular hammer in a washcloth and it wasn't cutting it. Who knew they sold stuff like that for a dollar?

I would test that painters tape before I used it on a project that was important to me. I haven't tried dollar store painters tape, but I remember there being a difference between dollar store masking tape and regular masking tape, as far as quality of adhesive.

I'd be careful about the hydrogen peroxide -- check expiry date -- and the candles, which can be toxic. On both, I speak from experience. The best deals in my opinion are the wrapping paper and the tape. Also, dollar store values and quality vary from store to store, as they are independently owned, and stock consistency depends on availability.

No! Sponge's from dollar stores are crap! Trust me! So are hangers.
