The Charming Brownstone Obama Lived in After College Is Now on the Market!

The Brooklyn brownstone that Barack Obama called home [1] in the '80s is now on the market, and though it may not be as glam as his new DC digs [2], we still can't help but appreciate the tiny details that make it as charming as can be. Located in New York's Park Slope neighborhood, the five-bedroom, three-bathroom (oh, and four-fireplace) apartment has been listed by Brown Harris Stevens [3] for $4.295 million. The former POTUS lived there after attending Columbia University and before meeting Michelle [4], according to Apartment Therapy. At the time, the property was split into multiple apartments, with the former POTUS and his then-girlfriend residing on the top of three floors.

Though the brownstone boasts a double parlor with stained-glass windows and fancy china cabinet, by far our favorite part is the oversize private garden outside. With a vine-covered arbor and tons of plants, this feature (especially one of this size) is pretty rare for New York City residences located near a park like this one. Keep scrolling to see what the picture-perfect garden and the rest of the property look like IRL.
