Before and After: Cottage Kitchen

Su Casa group member Rvarunnergal recently remodeled the kitchen of her 1940s Cape Cod home (as well as her bathroom). This photo shows what the room looked like when she purchased her home, and she says since then they've updated everything except the kitchen cabinets, which were pretty classic to begin with. Their newest addition is a backsplash made of recycled glass.
She says, "My absolute favorite part of this kitchen is the cork floors. Great on the feet!"

Want to see her updated kitchen?

Rvarunnergal's marble countertops are absolutely beautiful, and I think avocado green was a great choice for the walls. The recycled glass tiles have a classic subway tile shape, which should definitely withstand changing trends and styles. And, new appliances! Who doesn't love a brand-new fridge and stovetop?

I'm not personally a fan of sink skirts, but if you are going for a modern cottage vibe.. it works. I think it lookes beautiful. The white cabinets with the white counters tile was daring move.. but I think it looks great in a monochromatic color.

I really like it except for the skirt under the sink. I have always hated those things!

Love the marble counter tops - and the sink! AND the color! :) I liked the cupboards under the sink and am not as big of a fan of the curtains, but to each his own! Well done!

I think it's nice, but kind of stale. The things I don't like are the wall color, the pleated skirt under the sink, and the color of the floor. I don't think the floor and the counter top go well together. However, I LOVE the backsplash, countertop, sink, and appliances.

wow, you did an awesome job! i'm not as big a fan of the pleated skirt below the sink (my own personal taste), but the sink itself i love really clean and classy, i love it
