Before and After: Giving a Kitchen Breathing Room

Here's a cute little blue-tiled kitchen that seems functional enough, but isn't anything too spectacular.

To see what it looked like after renovations, just

.

Architect Jerri Holan made her own kitchen more expansive by taking down doors, rethinking the size of large appliances (and ultimately replacing them with smaller ones), and replacing one solid wall behind the stove with a half-wall. I liked the blue so much better and I like the old cabinets better too. I would have just liked the pulls changed and some swanky photography. The blue was so nice and clean looking.

I don't like the mustard-y yellow. The rest of the space looks much better though.

It's a fab redo, and kept in mind the colors and the period of the house. The original wall faucet was a smart choice.

Love the tiles on the wall, but I don't like the countertop ones. They are hard to clean and seem like too much. But, overall, it does look so much better than before.

What a fab renovation. I like mustard yellow, but I'm weird like that. I'm not a huge fan of tiled counters though. They're a pain to keep clean.

Big improvement, but I agree with Rosa. The mustard yellow, not so much. With the blue trim it looks like vintage McDonalds.

Great renovation but not digging the mustard-yellow tiles.
