Before and After Guest Room Renovation Photos

Before and After: Inspirata's Guest Room

Here's a post from CasaSugar Community member inspirata from the Su Casa group:

Ugly yuck old guest room

Our guest room was the worst room in the entire house. The carpet had obviously been peed on numerous times by past tenants' pets, and the walls were just . . . ick. We decided it was time to redo this room. We started by pulling up the gross carpet and started painting.

Carpet is up, painting has begun.

The color on the green wall is called "Soft Fern" by Dulux and the white is "Off-White" by Dulux.

Here's the almost-finished product. The floors are still to be done, the sander is coming in on Saturday, and the trim (skirting, window frames and sills, picture rails, and door) will be done after the floors are finished.

bed head

I made the cover for the headboard, as my hubby didn't want me to sand and paint the bedframe; he bought the bed himself when he was 18, and therefore it has sentimental value to him. So I covered it in this awesome material, which only cost me $12. The sheets are yet to be replaced with something in a more fitting color.

The lamps were only $17.50 each from Target, and the candles and hurricane holders were about $5 each. The picture frame was $8, and I designed the quote in Photoshop then printed it on photo paper.

Overall, I'm really happy with the outcome of this room — can't wait 'til it's totally finished!

I love the green you chose for the walls -- a bit daring . . . and *fabulous*!

Yes, guys! Let's try to offer *constructive* criticism, when possible. We're all in this together!

this room is not messy or dirty at all, and there is nothing negative to say about it. Anonymous is just being an ass, and a cowardly ass at that. this transformations is amazing; you did a great job inspirata!

@Anonymous - and that would be why you've posted as Anonymous - the internet is a wonderful thing, to be able to hide behind pseudonyms. Dirty and messy? I can maybe understand messy because I haven't yet ironed the endtable cloths, hung the picture or put the new sheets on (which I didn't have at this point), but dirty?! Not only that, but I did mention that this is only semi-completed. Maybe you could be kind enough to offer some suggestions on how I could make it less 'messy' or 'dirty'.
