The New Year is here, so telling yourself, "maybe I'll do it next week," is no longer an option! Yes, that's right. It is time to finally repaint your bedroom. You've been dying to make a change, but just haven't been able to settle on a color. And with so many intriguing hues out there, we can't say we blame you. Picking out paint can be one of the most overwhelming parts of home design. To make it easier for you, we reached out to some of our favorite design experts for their input on the hottest bedroom colors for 2017. Read on if you are in need of some serious inspiration, and sidenote: if you love white walls, this one is definitely for you!
Warm Grays
Sherwin-Williams' Anonymous [1] is easily Greige Design's [2] pick for the hottest new bedroom color for the upcoming year. This pick, with brown undertones and a warmer feel overall, is a go-to for their team "as it can be paired with almost any color, [plus] it tends to stay true to its color in varying light."
Crisp Whites
On a more understated note, Coco from COCOCOZY [3] simply loves nothing more than a crisp white bedroom for 2017. "My favorite part of an all-white bedroom is the versatility. I can experiment with virtually any combination of color accents and textures, which leads to endless possibilities in decorating." The color block rug and adorable dog definitely fit right in, too!
Blanched Corals
Looking for a happier bedroom in 2017? Look no further than Benjamin Moore's Blanched Coral [4], one of Lisa's favorites from Lisa Mende Design [5]. She admires that not only does this hue convey tranquility, but "it also makes everyone's skin tone look soft and dewy." Sounds like a win-win to us.
Whites with Yellow Undertones
White may truly be the top color for the new year as Marian from Miss Mustard Seed [6] is raving about this clean finish as well. She says, "white is very popular for walls right now, but the trick is to select a white that has a lot of depth. The undertones are very important to keep a white from feeling bland and stark. Mascarpone by Benjamin Moore [7], she says, is a fabulous choice that has enough yellow undertones to look sharp and elegant all on its own. Plus, "it's crisp, classic, and far from blah!"
Greenery
Kristy from My Design Chic [8] is following suit with Greenery, Pantone's Color of the Year, and particularly loves Benjamin Moore's Soothing Green [9] for a bedroom. She explains that green not only promotes productivity, but it also helps to create a relaxing, calming vibe. Plus, "with the new year beginning, full of promise and possibility, now is a great time to choose shades that will help us stick to our goals and chase our dreams. In patterns it can be playful and fun, while solid colors enhance its relaxing capabilities."
Warm Whites
Thought white was last year's trend? Think again! Jessica from Oh, I Design [10] assures us that this popular pick won't be going anywhere in 2017, and loves how soothing it can be for a bedroom space. She says, "since the bedroom is a room I like to keep simple and neutral, a warm white makes the perfect canvas. As much as we are still 'hustling' at work, we need a calming space to unwind after the day." She suggests Benjamin Moore's Cloud White [11] for the perfect crisp finish.
