8 Decorating Apps Your Home Needs Now

Good news, tech-savvy decorators: revamping your home has never been easier. Whether you are looking to purchase furniture, paint your walls, or simply search for inspiration, all your design assistance is just one smartphone away. There are tons of apps out there that will provide you with decorating advice, but we have rounded up our eight favorite options for interior excellence. Check out all of the apps below, and get to downloading.

  1. LikeThat Decor: When you see a piece of furniture you like, snap a picture of the item, and the app will instantly match you with similar pieces available to purchase. This clever app makes furniture shopping incredibly easy.
  2. Ikea Catalog: No, it's not just a catalog. Ikea just updated its app with a new augmented reality feature that allows you to virtually place the brand's furniture in your room to see how it will look. Measuring tapes are a thing of the past.
  3. Color Capture: Benjamin Moore's cool app allows you to snap a picture of any color inspiration you see. It will match you to the most exact paint available to purchase from its collection of 3,300 color options.
  4. Mark on Call: Create and experiment with your own floor plans on this app to stay organized when building or remodeling a home. It will replicate exact measurements: you can also take pictures of finishes, fabrics, rugs, and flooring to "skin" them onto virtual surfaces. You won't even need a designer for your next big project.
  5. Design*Sponge: After much begging and pleading, the Design*Sponge website has finally created a mobile app where you can easily access directions to DIYs and makeovers as well as look for decor inspiration.
  6. Moodboard: An accessible and straightforward way to create mood or inspiration boards for your home. Create color themes, and pull different images so that you can impeccably plan your space.
  7. Chairish: Buy and sell pre-owned furniture or decor in a quick way. There are all kinds of fun treasures to discover on this app.
  8. iHandy Level: Hanging a picture or building a custom piece of furniture? This level will seamlessly straighten anything out for you.
