Cambodia Chic: Hotel de la Paix

Here's a post from OnSugar blog Apartmentalizing about her chic hotel stay in Cambodia:

After Hong Kong, we traipsed off to Cambodia, where the people were unbelievably warm and welcoming, the food was delicious and cheap, and the sites were beautiful!  When we disembarked the plane in Siem Reap we were wowed by the small but beautiful airport (above).  I mean, just look at that vaulted ceiling and lighting!

Then we vanned our way to Hotel de la Paix.  Now, in a country where rooms can go for $5/night, we weren't sure whether spending many many multiples of that per night would be worth it.  But Hotel de la Paix had come so highly recommended by so many people that we couldn't pass it up!  And wow!  RIGHT CHOICE!

Continue reading to see the hotel's interiors.

Go us!  The modern, art-deco interior is peppered with Khmer (that's Cambodian for, well, Cambodian) accessories, sculptures, and decor touches.

The rooms and world-class restaurant are centered on an amazing courtyard, with the sacred banyan tree surrounded by water.  At night, candles and flames light the space for a dramatic and romantic effect.

Coming up next . . . a glimpse into the rooms, with some of the best design touches we saw in our SE Asian hotels (including some that are going to have to make an appearance in my apartment at home!).
