Casa Query: What Was Your Best Wedding Crash Pad?

Years ago, I got to attend a wedding with my family at a beautiful ski chalet. The bride and groom had rented out the entire chalet for their wedding, and put up their guests in the lodge and the surrounding log cabins that dotted the ski slope. Recently, I also heard about another wedding where guests were put up at a summer camp! For my wedding, my fiancé and I are reserving a number of lake cabins for our friends to share, and have also given guests the options of hotels, camping, or staying on my family's farm. It seems as if staying in an unusual spot definitely heightens the entire wedding experience.

So tell me, what was the coolest place you stayed at for a wedding? Was it a quaint B&B? Maybe a relaxing beach cabana? Did you simply find a hotel that was funky in all the right ways? Tell me by commenting below!

It was a beautiful Hotel in downtown Annapolis, the wedding was at the Naval Academy Chapel. The whole weekend was beautiful (and I caught the boquet ;-) hubby (then boyfriend) caught the garter and we were married the following year).

One of my best friends married one of my husband's best friends in Solvang and we all stayed in this hotel with these quaint little Danish cottages around a garden in the back. It was ridiculous and fun and charming all at once.

my family doesn't do that - we all just stay at the homes of relatives. only the bride and groom stay in a hotel, but only if they are in a different city from where they live. at a friend of a friend's wedding everyone stayed in hotels or b&bs or at the bride's family home on a farm. we didn't stay the night, though.

A friend of mine got married in Boonville, this little mountain town an hour our two outside San Francisco. We stayed in an adorable little B&B--our room was quaint-chic, and in the morning we sat outside in the garden eating fresh-made scones, petting the hotel cat.

I always love to stay in B&B's, they're so charming and cute. When my best friend got married in 2002, we stayed in a little hotel on Cape Cod...nothing special about the place, but Julia Roberts came and did karaoke at the hotel bar when we were all there celebrating!

The best was for my sister's wedding at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston. It's pretty hard to top that one. My wedding probably wouldn't be that extravagant!

We stayed at the Wyndham Drake hotel in Oak Brook, IL for the wedding of my husband's cousin. It was beautiful and the service was outstanding.

Negril, Jamaica in a house we rented with friends. There was a private beach, a personal chef, cleaning staff, and a bartender.

A friend of mine who got married in Ocean Springs, MS (gorgeous little town, btw) put all of us in her wedding party up at the Beau Rivage Casino in Biloxi (she and her husband both worked there)in swanky suites, which were even nicer as they'd been recently renovated post-Katrina. Have to admit it was pretty darned luxurious and fun to spend the weekend at the casino...also, this fall another good friend of mine will have us stay at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, which is always a treat.
