Cheap Glassybaby and Glass Votive Alternatives

Desire/Acquire: Glassybabys

When it comes to accessorizing my home, I have about as much will power against shopping as Imelda Marcos. That said, while I probably would spend $40 on a little votive like the hand-blown Glassybabys I've adored for years, I have just as much trouble passing up a more affordable alternative. If $40 is out of your budget, don't you fret, darling. I've discovered an absolutely lovely doppelganger. Wondering where you can pick one up? Then continue reading.

The Jonathan Adler Pop Rocks Glass ($14) is a double-cased, hand-blown, double old-fashioned glass that could easily pass as a candle votive. It's available in five colors, from snowy white to brick orange. Some might think they don't hold a candle to the unique and elegant Glassbabys, which are crafted from three layers of hand-blown glass. But I think Adler's design is an equally fancy place to shine a light.

If $14 is trop cher pour toi, try DIY-ing these water balloon candleholders instead. Their bulbous shape is quite Glassybaby-esque!
