Could You Live in a Gallery-Like Home?

In a recent San Francisco Chronicle article, homeowner Karen Justis says that she views her home as a gallery, saying that, "Art is of primary importance and everything else is a backdrop."

While I definitely admire her gorgeous home, I know that it's not a good fit for my personality or lifestyle — a little clutter makes a house a home, in my world. What about you?

Wow that is really lovely. I think I could see myself living there for sure. :)

It's not really my style, but I do like it! I couldn't imagine living here with kids, though.
g1amourpuss g1amourpuss 8 years living room and bedroom would have to be more comfy though. Clean lines.. a comfortable couch for the husband.. but lots of frill and fluff on the bed.

Totally. My husband is just the opposite of this though. He's like a junky pack-rat and it takes forever to get him to throw away sh!t... I have to do it for him. Half the time he never notices anything is missing!

Like it but not my style. Wouldn't mind having this style as an office space though.

"I love this minimalist style, and could definitely NOT live in a home like this." While the Virgo in me desperately wishes I could be so organized, I have come to accept that there is no way I could maintain a look like this.

Should have a sign on the front door...'Kids and the elderly not allowed'. I find it cold and unwelcoming snobbery.

I'd like to vacation in a home like that for about a month. Then have someone else clean it up when I left.

I'm anti-clutter, but I still like my home to look comfortable and "lived in." That picture just doesn't look inviting at all.
