Coveted Crib: Wonderfully White in Landskrona

I stumbled upon this house in Landskrona, Sweden, designed by Swedish architect Elding Oscarson and instantly fell in love. Obviously, sandwiched between two very similar homes, it's really hard to ignore. While its modern form certainly stands out from the crowd, it has a poetic elegance that's respectful of the surrounding houses. The interior space has a relaxing flow, with three floors arranged in a loft layout. The kitchen and dining room open up to an intimate garden, which leads to a quiet back house with an office — an ideal place for work-from-home types.

Wow I love it! Both the new and old buildings are beautiful. The contrast between them is really interesting. It's inspiring!!!

As much as I hate the thought of applying for a permit for every single design change on a home in a preserved historic district, I truly understand why they do it... to preserve the history. I wonder what the neighbors think?

What an eyesore! And it used to be such a charming historic street... definitely not my taste.
