Give your Halloween [1] costumes a second life with this kitschy and fun Halloween [2] DIY [3] project for your home! The best part about this spooky mantel rag garland is that it's super easy and anyone can do it. Plus, you'll get a little bit of nostalgia hanging those old costumes [4] from your mantel!
Here's what you'll need:
- Orange string lights
- Old Halloween [6] costumes (or Halloween-inspired fabric)
- Scissors
Step 1
Take your fabric (or old Halloween [7] costumes) and cut them into 1-inch strips. Depending on the length of the string lights, you will need about 150 – 200 strips of fabric.
Step 2
Take the strips and tie them around the lights.
Step 3
Continue to cut and tie fabric strips around the lights so that the knots are close together.
Pro tip: rotate the lights as you tie your knots so that it gives your garland a nice variety of texture.
Step 4
Plug in the lights and enjoy!
