Cool Idea: An Upcycled Laurel Wreath

While in Los Angeles this past weekend, I took a stroll around South Pasadena, where I fell in love with the dresses at Camille, a bridal and special occasions boutique. I also loved the unusual and eye-catching store display as well, which featured candy-colored laurel wreaths.

Upon closer inspection, the wreaths were actually made from a very common material. Can you guess what it is? Keep reading to find out.

The wreaths are made from interlocked plastic spoons! You could easily DIY a similar look. I can see these spoon wreaths adding a touch of fun at a playful wedding reception, or as a decoration at an outdoor brunch or other dining event.

If you're interested in making something similar, the Colorful DIY Mirror from Country Living also uses plastic spoons, but arranges them around a circular mirror.

Has anyone else tried a project where you've upcycled plastic spoons? I'm seriously impressed by how chic these projects are.

Awesome idea -- I would just assume that you would need a form to guide your placement and then start glueing.
