Dining Tables With Unusual Bases

Roundup: Out-of-the-Ordinary Dining Tables

Our friends at ShelterPop recently posted about the Hearst-sponsored Designer Visions: Cinema Style show house, in which three luxurious apartments were transformed with film-inspired designs. Veranda, House Beautiful and Town & Country collaborated with Richard Hallberg, Phoebe and James Howard, and Steven Gambrel to realize the decorating realities of three movies:  Six Degrees of Separation, Something's Gotta Give, and Wall Street.

I was particularly taken with Richard Hallberg's interpretation of the film Wall Street. The smart use of black as well as the gold pops used in the accessories make this room stand out in a crowd. I also loved his use of an eye-catching dining table, whose unusual base eschewed four legs or a simple pedestal for something more architectural. Check out some similar tables that use the same concept for their bases.
