Do You Have Any Large-Scale Artwork in Your Home?

Large-scale artwork tends to be more expensive than small pieces by the same artist, although with that higher price tag comes a grander impact. Then again, some say bigger is not necessarily better. But if you take Nick Olsen's advice, bigger is better, especially if you live in a studio because it makes the space seem more expansive. Regardless, do you have any?

Ooh I love big statement pieces like the one above, and the ones describes above sound really cool too. I don't have anything that big, just a 34"x28" over-the-mantelpiece picture by the Arts and Crafts artist Arthur Matthews. My place is a Craftsman, and the living room's color scheme is "Northern California" so it fits :-)

I do! I found this amazing large painting at Salvation Army of a man and woman kissing in black and white. I painted the frame hot pink and it hangs in my bedroom!
fashion photography is a passion of mine, well photography in the whole, and i do have a personal collection of enlarged and framed works, as well as as enlarged editorials, the distinguished ones of course. And that includes several pieces of art from my late aunt's collection which have been passed on to me. Art...i could just not get enough of it =)

We have a is a print of an old black & white photo from the Naval Academy (hubby is an alumni), one is a large abstract that I painted and a third is a large black & white print on canvas of the New York skyline from 1939. Oh and we have a large framed map that we keep track of our travels on... I'd consider that art too :-) The last 3 are about 3' tall.. the Naval Academy one is long but narrow, so it's considered oversize but not nearly as large as the other pieces.

I've always wanted to but so far, all I have are small-scale pieces. One of these days, though...

I do. In our bedroom, on the wall on my side of the bed. It's huge, it's a big statement piece. I love it. Personally, it means a lot to me. It's the first thing I see when I wake up in the morning. :) Also, it's the first thing one sees when one comes into the bedroom. Can't miss it. :)
