I only grow mint at the moment. Be careful with mint next to other plants. It will take over all the nutrients and kill surrounding plants :) I have a large planter box thingie with only mint growing in it. When it flowers, it attracts a lot of bees and wasps :( It is a very strong plant that can live in very cold weather.

Last year I had a ton of basil, but couldn't find the varieties I wanted this year, so tried to grow them from seeds. They were doing great until some bugs moved in and I had to get it out of my kitchen - the plants were too delicate to do well outside in the "warm" SF summer, so no more basil for me :( So this year I have a ton of mint (although that's there year round) including apple mint and chocolate mint. As well as purple sage, oregano, thyme, onion chives and tarragon. I'm also trying my hand at tomatoes - i think the first one will be ready tomorrow!

No and I don't want one. I don't really cook things that need herbs added.

You guys can grow anything with a little Miracle Grow. I never had a green thumb until I started actually using the stuff. It really is a miracle! :)

i would love to have a gigantic one, but as a city-dweller, my backyard is the size of a postage stamp, and bricked over. so i just have pots of basil, mint and rosemary. i'm contemplating a potted key lime tree, as well....maybe...

Nahs....I have NO green thumb. Anything I try to grow will die. =) Perhaps I'm not meant to be a gardener?

Mine's pretty huge. I love it. My garden makes me so happy. I wish you all had a GreenSugar network (or whatever) for us gardeners! (no home stuff, just plants, flowers, herBs, gear, tips, etc...)

McJuga I as well have the Aerogarden, it was a Christmas gift, since I love to cook with fresh herbs. I absolutely love it. So easy to maintain as well and if you don't naturally have a green thumb it is perfect.

I live in an apartment with no balcony, but I have small pots with basil, oregano, parsley, and rosemary on a shelf beneath a window that gets good sun. They all do pretty well, but the basil grows like crazy! I have to cut it back like once a week!

I've got two basil plants, rosemary, thyme, chives, and recently added mint to the mix. Just so that I can have a Mojito whenever I want one. ;)
