Do You Have Houseplants?

Indoor plants can really make a home feel home-y. That is, if you look after them. I personally pride myself in the responsibility, and try to fit as many in my crib as possible without seeming like a crazy Amazon lady. What about you?

i have a pretty brown thumb but ive been slowly "training" it to be green with a bit of luck. however one of my cats will eat ANYTHING that resembles a plant. i have some origami flowers and she chews on those so naturally i do not have any house plants. i do have a few plants in some of my terrariums. a gollum in my fire skinks cage, and water plants in my salamander cage, i tried jade in my snakes cages but they like to burrow and always uprooted the plants even when i kept them in pots in the cages. i would love to plant some edible vine in my iguanas cage but have not come across the right one yet. i would love to have a yard, i would have a big vegetable garden, when i was a kid we had a 10 by 10 plot of corn and it was fun to play in, but the broccoli was not such a great hit, when we found HUGE worms in the dish, AFTER we had eaten some!!!!

I've got 4 lemon trees at my parent's place, which I think may come to res with me next time I go home. I started 6 from seeds this summer, and have been trying to give some away. In return for the lemon trees, I've gotten an oak tree seedling, and a mini African violet. I also got 'The Mini Bonsai Kit' from Chapters, and have two seedlings going (I separated them today, so I'm hoping they survived that). Oh, and two cactus. Thankfully my Mom's babysitting most of them for me.

no. only because i am here just for this year and didn't want to toss them afterwards, plus my real stuff is in storage - normally i have a tall yucca and other smaller plants, and used to have a nice sized bamboo plant but left it in the apartment building when i moved :(

I had them in my old apartment but haven't purchased any since I've been living in my townhouse. I'm never sure which ones are okay for my cats. I do love the look of plants though.

I have the black thumb of death when it comes to plants. I can't even get a cactus to survive.

I have four and I want more ;) but my husband says that is a jungle (which is not!), I just love how they look and they also make it cozy.

No way. I've already killed the ones we have in our office.

i went from married with an unmanageable amount of plants to divorced with just three. i prefer the latter on both counts

I have about 6, which is quite a few for my 650 square foot apartment.

I currently have one -- a lilly plant whom I have to rescue from my ex's apartment. As soon as I find a new apartment, I want to start a mini herb garden.

bwaaaaaaahahhaha. I would kill a plant so fast. I always forget to water the plants at work and they die real fast as soon as we get them. I don't want any resposibility other than myself!!

Yes, I have one. But my husband does not like them so have to take care of it and keep it out of the way.

I have a bunch but probably don't qualify as jungle quite yet. The home I live in now has lighting issues, so I'm limited. I do have a lot and love them. I can't live without plants around.

I'd like some but the apartment I am in now doesn't get much light but since I am moving and the new place does I am going to pick up a few. I always wanted to have some :)

I love house plants but my one cat always eats anything I bring in the house. Even fake plants! I have baskets with grapes and leaves on the soffits in my kitchen and every day I find the grapes pulled off and half eaten and played with. He's such a pain in the butt!

Okay, Casa, I'll admit that I'm practically living in the Amazon. Plants soften the hard lines of the interior and don't forget provide fresh oxygen. My husband says the only time I'm not talking is when I'm asleep, so I guess my plants get plenty of carbon dioxide. Maybe that's why they do so well, ha!
