Do You Rotate Seasonal Clothes in Your Closet?

Do You Rotate Seasonal Clothes?

As the mercury rises, many folks can be found digging out boxes of warm weather clothes and packing away woolly items reserved for Winter. Switching out seasonal clothing is not only a great way to keep your pad organized, but it's also smart for anyone getting hitched and learning how to share space. I've rotated my clothes as long as I can remember, and my closet is almost always in order. My husband, on the other hand, insists on clogging up his side of the wardrobe with all his clothing at once. Winter sweaters on top of bathing suits were enough to make me cringe when we first moved in together. Now we've got our own closets, but what about you? Do you rotate out seasonal clothes in your closet?

I live in Southern California so I don't really have "summer" or "winter" clothes... they're all pretty much year round :0)

when i had a tiny closet in my childhood home, i did. we had rubbermaid tubs that we would put our winter/fall clothes in during the spring/summer and vice versa. it was a pain! so glad i have a big closet now.

Oh, forgot to mention that out of season items go in a double sealed cloth box/container. First the clothes go in a plastic bag that you can vacuum the air out of (or just seal off) and that is attached to a structured cloth container with a double zipper. All which gets stored in the back of the closet till the following mid-season.

Depends on the item(s). Chunky sweaters, coats, fall skirts and heavy pants (along with thick scarves, gloves, wool hats, winter boots, etc) go away come spring/summer. Then the opposite happens come mid-autumn. I like to have extra space in my closet and for the wardrobe to be seasonally appropriate and (somewhat) focused.

I move all the sweaters and winter shoes to one side of the closet (the side that doesn't get opened all that often) when summer hits. And I get my shorts and capris out of hiding. But that's it.

I sure do. Also, I have seasonal shoes and accessories that are rotated, too. Furthermore, everything is color-coordinated to the season, too. I love fashion.

Oh to have enough closet space to have all of my clothes out all year. Would be nice.

I haven't in the past, but I really need to. Our closet is a third bedroom, and it's packed with stuff. After our wedding, getting organized is SOOO high on our list. I have a feeling that I will start packing up things that are out of season, just to make putting away clothing less of a chore!

Yeah, other than the obvious winter coat and bathing suit, I don't have separate winter/summer/fall/spring wardrobes.

I only put away things like snowboarding clothes, scarves and gloves. I may wear a summery shirt to go out in the winter, or a sweater on a cold day in the summer.
