Do You Store Your Clothes Out in the Open?

Desire to Inspire recently rounded up some images of clothes stored out in the open that's really got me considering the storage style. Back in '08, I wrote a trend alert about apparel used as home décor — which is one thing — but I'm talking about really storing your wardrobe out for all eyes to see. This photo from Danish magazine Bolig makes the style look flawless, like a high-end boutique, but I know my shoes would never last lined up like that. It does seem like a nice way to keep your pretty party dresses, though, or even work clothes that you tend to wear five days a week. Do any of you do this?

I prefer to keep everything out of eyesight, but I don't. My current living situation doesn't quite accommodate my wardrobe, so I have a rolling rack in my room to fit everything.

If i had a spare room i would do this. I want it to look like the room Jenna Lyons home.

I don't have a closet, hald my loft bedroom is a walk-in and I hang as many clothes as I can so I can see them all :) It's awesome, I love it!!! There is a doorway seperating the closet/bedroom so I put up a nice curtain and thats good enough for me :)

I have an old house with only a kitchen broom closet and a tiny closet in a out of the way room so I turned a tiny odd shaped bedroom 4x6 into a walk in closet, it works for a single person.

I turned a spare bedroom into a huge walk in closet with 2 rolling racks for clothes and a shoe rack. I put workout clothes and shoes I don't wear often into bins but everything else is hung out in the open.

I have a wardrobe rack in the laundry room or my work clothes and seasonal items but only due to space constraints in the apt I share with my boyfriend. I've displayed purses on my walls in the past as a space-saver, as well.

i also hang things on a rack unless it requires to folded and placed in a drawer. i like to be able to see all the clothes i have to prevent me from over spending or buying the same clothing twice. plus if its color coordinated it looks great.

For the most part I try to get everything in drawers or in the closet...sometimes the amount of clothes vs the size of the closet foils me. I do not like the cluttered look/feel of clothes out in the open.

I think it just looks way too cluttered, unless you're framing individual pieces or something like that.
