Elle Decor Launches Redesigned Elledecor.com

PointClickHome Bites the Dust, Elledecor.com Rises

Ever since Hachette Filipacchi Media's modern shelter magazine Metropolitan Home folded in November, I've been wondering when the publishing house's decorating site PointClickHome would bite the dust, too. The website was meant to be a portal for the readers of both Elle Decor and Metropolitan Home, who are like-minded in their enthusiasm for decorating. Since Elle Decor is now the only shelter title in HFMUS's stable of magazines, it was only a matter of time before it took on a more predictable URL.

So, welcome elledecor.com! Just launched, the magazine's online counterpart has been redesigned, and boasts a range of new features, including a searchable photo archive of over 1,000 images, advice for decorating and remodeling, a shopping resource guide, and sneak peeks at upcoming issues. Riffing off of Decorati's Connect for Consumer's service, elledecor.com will also launch a designer registry next month, connecting design professionals with new clients via company profiles and portfolios. More interesting, editor-in-chief Margaret Russell notes, "For the first time, our print and digital editors are working as one team to create content for all platforms." Hallelujah!
