Fabrics Can Make Chic Canopies

Cool Idea: Tapestry For a Canopy

I thought I'd seen just about every which way to decorate a nursery but then I came across this creative way to use a tapestry. Instead of just hanging a pretty piece of fabric from the wall or even framing it, second-time mom Lauren Liess of Pure Style Home decided to hang hers partially from the ceiling and then belted it again where the wall meets the ceiling. The result? A charming canopied tapestry that brings a Moroccan vibe to her babe-to-be's sweet lair. Also noteworthy are the midnight walls and hanging crystal lights that add flair to the eclectic look.

Would you give this look a try in your bedroom?

I would! But, I'd make sure it was secured up there really well.

That's beautiful ! We're expecting in October and I've started to poke around at nursery bedding. Fortunantly, Shayna, a lot that's out there now is more "modern with a baby twist" than the uber cutesty-woosty stuff you mentioned! :P The Land of Nod (Crate and Barrel's baby/ kid department) has some beautiful items.

This is gorgeous! I think that what I love most about it is how elegant it is - and that it's the total opposite aesthetic of the pale-pink-and-pale-blue-covered-in-cutesy-stuffed-animals most nurseries are decked out in!
