Before and After: An Elegant Update For a Drab Fireplace

San Francisco interior design firm Niche Interiors recently tackled a fireplace demolition project for a client. Niche Interiors founder Jennifer Jones wanted to add some elegance to this orange and brown eyesore of a fireplace.

Jennifer explains, "The fireplace demolition was relatively simple. We removed the old tile, framed out a new fireplace, and installed Carrara marble tiles and a vintage mantel found at a local shop. Since there were no gas lines or venting to worry about the job was more straightforward. Candles create a nice mood in the place of an actual fire." What an improvement! I love how the new, muted colors in the marble add so much elegance to the space. Have you renovated a fireplace in your home?
