Even if you're lucky enough to have an extra bedroom in your home, sometimes that space is reserved for other things besides a home office, such as a guest room or crafting space. That's why it's a good idea to designate a home office "corner" in another room of your house. Even homes with relatively small footprints can devote some wall space to a home office. The key is to keep the look streamlined. Use a desk with a thin profile, and choose a chair that can be tucked in, or even underneath, the desk. Keep clutter to a minimum by hiding away office supplies when they're not in use, and keep files tucked into a drawer or nearby cabinet. Not only can a home office corner enhance the look of a room, it's also likely to increase your productivity — or at least help you to get those pesky bills paid on time.
