It's very good indeed to be one of Gwyneth Paltrow [1]'s friends. Last night brought yet another example when the actress and Goop mogul hosted a soiree [2] to celebrate the release of her interior-designer pal Windsor Smith's new book, Windsor Smith Homefront: Design for Modern Living [3].
Gwyneth's not just a party host; she's also a collaborator. Gwyneth actually bought her current home, a mansion located in Los Angeles's Brentwood neighborhood [4], in 2012 for just under $10 million from Windsor. Gwyneth, who has written a number of books herself, also contributed a foreword to Windsor's latest tome. Also, Gwyneth helped publicize another of Windsor's ventures, the mail-order interior-design service Room in a Box, in an installment of Goop [5].
With Gwyneth and Windsor's powers combined, last night was an elegant affair. The duo hosted a number of high-powered friends from both the design and film worlds, with designer Alexandra von Furstenberg, William Morris Endeavor Co-CEO Ari Emmanuel, and television host George Kotsiopoulos in attendance.
Most importantly, though, the occasion offered a peek inside a Gwyneth Paltrow party. It's one thing to read about Gwyneth's lifestyle suggestions in Goop, and it's quite another to see how she puts her own ideas and words into practice.
