Geometric Tile

The hosts of Flip or Flop and The Property Brothers have different end goals in mind when they renovate a home, but we can expect lots of geometric tiles to appear in the makeover "after" shots on both shows this year.

"A current trend I'm obsessing over is bold graphic tiles. You will see them in our upcoming season five and six flips used as shower floors, kitchen backsplashes, and fireplace tiles," said Christina and Tarek.

"Graphic backsplash tiles are making a comeback," echoed Jonathan and Drew, adding, "It will be the year of making statements in the kitchen."

Technology

The Property Brothers are nothing if not innovative when it comes to reimagining outdated homes, so it's no surprise that they're looking forward to seeing homes enter the 21st century both aesthetically and technologically this year.

Expect them to "[incorporate] more technology to make the home smarter and our lives easier. You'll see home automation start to become the standard," they tell us.

Black Stainless Steel

For so many years, silver stainless steel has been the gold standard — excuse the pun — but the Property Brothers tell us that we are entering a new era. "Black stainless steel appliances are stunning and a beautiful twist on the longtime-popular silver stainless steel."

Vivid Pops of Color

Jonathan and Drew may have big personalities, but it will be big color that dominates in 2016. The Property Brothers say to expect "vivid pops of color throughout the home in decor, art, furniture, and feature walls." We can't wait to see how these bright hues manifest in their gorgeous home renos!
