High-Gloss Ceiling Paint

Love It or Hate It? High-Gloss Ceilings

The glossy white ceiling of this Coogee Beach, Sydney, home is by no means subtle. It's flashy and reflective, snazzy and arresting. But it works because the home — complete with a dreamy interior courtyard — has been designed to the nines. An "unfinished" room could not pull this off; it'd be like wearing a khaki shirtdress with rhinestone Louboutins.

I would consider this effect in a smaller room and in a darker shade — perhaps Benjamin Moore's Old Navy? The white is a little too Miami for my tastes. What do you say?

I think it looks stunning. But yes, you'd have to have a really classy room to pull that off.

I love it tentatively, I would have to see how it felt in person. It's clearly works best with tall ceilings and the absence of other shiny surfaces.

Ella, do you think this floor is carpet? It looks like carpet floor tiles, but it's hard to tell.

I love high gloss ceilings. My house is meant to be more homey & comfortable, so, it wouldn't work, but with the right lighting, chandiliers & nice furnishings, it would look amazing. I also think you need to have a sleek floor to pull it off. It just wouldn't reflect carpet or hard wood as well.

Honestly, I love to see the effect in black! Totally agree that you need a luxe room to pull off the look, especially one with high ceilings.
