While most house hunters flock to spaces flooded with natural light, John Legend [1] and wife, Chrissy Teigen, were looking for the exact opposite. Featured in Architectural Digest [2], the loft-like apartment they chose offers a certain cozy charm the couple couldn't resist. Having recently sold their bright and airy LA home [3], John and Chrissy wanted a dark and moody place in New York. Case in point? One of Chrissy's favorite features: a kitchen window facing a brick wall. "I absolutely love this. I'd rather have a wall than a view of the Empire State Building," Chrissy says.
Designer Don Stewart, who also worked on the couple's LA home [4], helped make their vision a reality by renovating the one-bedroom apartment with rustic wooden wall treatments, moody neutrals, and metallic accents. The result? A sophisticated yet comfortable space we can't help but envy. Take a tour!
