Kohler Numi Toilet Sells For $6,000

A Utilitarian Product Gets a Glam Ad Campaign — Can You Guess What's Being Marketed?

Take a look at this photo. What do you think it's advertising? A new movie about glam LA singletons looking for love? Or, perhaps a reality television show about selling hip properties in the Hollywood Hills?

Given the slickness of this ad campaign, I'd have guessed this was an ad for a movie or, perhaps, a clothing line. But in reality, these ads are selling something much more utilitarian. Find out all about the product in question.

These ads are selling toilets, my friends. Specifically, they're selling the Kohler Numi toilet. Retailing at $6,400, it's a toilet that's meant to be a showcase piece — and, if we're to take interior design advice from the ad campaign, it's a toilet worthy of taking center stage in your home, perhaps next to your Florence Knoll sofa.

The Numi comes with more bells and whistles than you may know what to do with. Featuring an MP3 player hookup, charcoal deodorizer, rear speakers (no pun intended), a retractable bidet, heated sett, foot warmer, motion activation, and a touchscreen remote control to operate your high-tech toilet.

We all know these kinds of products are designed for a reason — there's a market for them. After all, Leonardo DiCaprio bought a $3,200 Toto Neorest 500 toilet a few years ago. Perhaps it's time for Leo to upgrade to this model. If you're interested in a Numi, it will be available in the US at the end of this month.

Would you buy a $6,400 toilet, or do you think it's a bit ridiculous? Tell me what you think in the comments!
