If shopping at Ikea exhausts you, then you'll be thrilled to hear what a London branch of the retailer is about to offer: breakfast in bed. The store is reportedly opening a pop-up Breakfast in Bed Cafe [1]. Yes, you read that correctly.
From 7 a.m. until noon, you can book a bed in Ikea, much as you would a table in a restaurant, to dine and luxuriate while waitstaff and sleep specialists attend to you. If you can't make it until the afternoon, you can reserve one of Ikea's cozy and affordable beds for a midday nap — ironic considering that a Beijing Ikea recently became so overrun with sleeping customers that it had to ban in-store napping [2].
Breakfast in Bed Cafe customers will be given a menu that is said to include Scandinavian breakfast classics, a selection of pillows, sleep-facilitating teas, and access to sleep experts. Did we mention it's all free of charge?
If you want to get in on the zzz-catching Ikea action, however, you have to act fast. The pop-up service is only available from May 18 to 20 in England's Leonard Street store.
