Love It or Hate It? Fur in Your Home

Fur made a big appearance at New York Fashion Week, but did it register on your home decorating radar? There's plenty of it to be found in the home decor world, including this Adrienne Landau Rabbit Throw ($2400). While I'm sure the throw is sumptuously soft, I couldn't imagine including something like this in my home. How about in yours?

Hate it. It's a dead animal and wearing something else's skin or decorating your home with it is just tacky.

I have a few faux fur things (a blanket and 2 pillows) but would never buy real fur.

I think it depends on how much of it you have. I have a furry pillow from West Elm that I love...and my cat loves it too...

I don't hate people who wear fur but I won't buy or wear real fur, or even faux fur!! I would much rather cuddle up with a cashmire throw!!

Hate fur...or any sort of animal print, skin, or taxidermy. It's just ugly. No offense, but it reminds me of hillbillies.

First of all, no one would ever buy a cat hair blanket because you would end up wearing more hair than the blanket. Second of all, I love fur and you hate fur. You love cats and I hate cats. People are going to have different opinions on this so why must we keep debating it! If people put as much energy into say, helping the homeless as they do arguing against fur, everyone would have a place to call home. I think it's a great blanket, perfect for a ski cabin!

I have a pink faux throw from Pier 1 but it's in storage right now. Very soft and warm!

I have the Pottery Barn's Faux-Fur Throw and I LOVE it. I wouldn't use real fur, but I also wouldn't splash red paint in someone's house, either. I agree with ReDesignTech: there's lots of vintage fur that can be used and made into something useful.

I love the dialogue and controversy that stems from fur. The daughter of a trapper and from a family of mink/chinchilla ranchers I can see merits and flaws in both sides of the argument. I vote for vintage fur - there's plenty of it out there to be made into something fabulous, and the deed is already done.

Plus it's fugly anyways... Way too Grizzly Adams for civilized people.

I've had cats softer than my softest bunnies, the only reason cats aren't used for fur is that they're protected under cruelty laws because they're companion animals. Despite being companions to many people, rabbits aren't so lucky and get stuck in the livestock category, freeing people up to do whatever disgusting and evil things they want to with rabbits' bodies whether they're living or dead.

Love the look, but I'd go faux

Gross! I wouldn't even stay in someone else's house if I saw that, it might as well be made of cats.

Ugh. Why would anyone want to snuggle up with dead animals? I don't get it.

Not so sure the rabbits love it. If you love the look and feel of fur, there are plenty of gorgeous alternatives that don't rely on the suffering of animals.
