Love It or Hate It? Spare Seating Hung on the Wall

I spotted this photo in the portfolio of Swedish interior stylist Lo Bjurulf, and of course the first thing I noticed was the arrangement of three spare dining chairs hung on the wall. I'd seen this before in the portfolio of interior designer Suzy Hoodless, but here I'm not sure it's pulled off as well. The idea, I guess, is to make your storage work double duty as "wall décor." Do you think this is a successful technique? Or do you find it uncomfortable, visually?Source

The layout of the shoot is really neat, pretty clean I love the star burst lighting but chairs on the wall ehh not for me .

the hanging chairs are creepy - like those spots are reserved for ghosts or something.

It's beautiful. But the hanging chairs kinda freak me out.

I think that Suzy pulled it off better because the chairs she used were different colors and it was hung asymmetrically. It gave it more interest as an art piece instead of just looking like chairs on the wall. I've seen this one other time on flickr and LOVED it. The quote is: "I had three chairs in my house; one for solitude, two for friendship, three for society." I love that the physical representation of the quote is hanging below.

Not for my house but it looks kinda cool.

Like lots of others, I think this could work well if it was done a little differently. I'd go for it if it were for pure art, and you couldn't see the hooks. I'd also paint the chairs.

It makes me uneasy but I am not really sure why.

uzy pulled it off better because her design had more of a homey feel, so it wasn't as jarring and it looked kind of cool.

I don't mind this, but the picture itself is odd.

I like this, too. My only pet peeve is that star pendants are off-centered. If the pendant lighting was centered, I would like it more. JMHO.

I love this. I had an idea with an old wooden bench that we have to hang it on the wall... I just haven't done it yet. I even have the perfect niche for it, it would be just for art as it's not a very sturdy bench for sitting so it's main purpose would be to hang on the wall lol. But I want to paint it a bright color and then hang it.

No that's weird.

Not feeling it with the chairs. I have seen some where the seating is more of a ottoman style, and when those are hung up on the wall, it blends a little better as wall art.
