Calling Marilyn Monroe Fans! The Icon's House Just Hit the Market

Some like it hot, but Marilyn Monroe liked it California cool. The iconic actress purchased this Spanish hacienda-style home in the exclusive Los Angeles enclave of Brentwood in 1962. It was notably the only home the iconic actress ever owned, but she was tragically found dead of an apparent sleeping pill overdose only months after moving in at the age of 36. Many people have owned the historic property since (including a couple who discovered a sophisticated eavesdropping system installed throughout the house during a remodel), and now you have the chance to be the newest resident — if you have $6.9 million, that is.

The property was just listed with Lisa Optican at Mercer Vine. While many amenities in the four-bedroom, three-bath, 2,624-square-foot property have been updated over the years, the secluded and tranquil home maintains its charm; think arched doorways, colorful tile, red roof, and a welcoming swimming pool. After moving into the home, Marilyn reportedly told Life, "Anybody who likes my house, I am sure I will get along with." Check out the house for yourself in the images ahead to see if you and Marilyn would have been friends.
