Midday Muse: Halloween Cards

I just came across this free downloadable Halloween card from Inside a Black Apple, and it got me thinking. Many of us send Christmas cards sharing family photos, and in grade school we all exchanged Valentine's cards. And, of course, birthday cards are a given. But sending cards for other holidays is really uncommon. This particular card is so adorable though, I wonder, why not send cards to your family and friends on every holiday? A greeting card certainly won't break the bank, although I'm unhappy with the rise in stamp costs these days. And, your message needn't be long; it's the thought that counts. Tell me: do you send holiday cards outside of Christmas and Valentine's Day? Do you receive them? I bet one of you has a thoughtful old auntie who sends them.

I love to send cards! I always send them for Christmas, birthdays and Valentine's Day. My favorite cards to send are 'just because.' I make a lot of my own cards, but I still enjoy browsing the card racks and usually end up buying a few. It's a very easy way to brighten someone's day.

I love the recordable cards that they have these days. Those are cute too.

I am a hallmark addict. If they make a card for it, I'm sending it. I actually just sent my Halloween cards out on monday. Everyone loves getting stuff in the mail, and I especially make sure to send my grandparents since they are (obviously) older and I don't see them but once a year. I think they appreciate it.

I ALWAYS send cards. Considering my profession, I guess I'm contributing to my own job security...heh. My mother-in-law also sends cards every holiday. We usually get two; one from her and my FIL, and one from my dog-in-law, Gus. Cute!

I always send cards! Everyone loves getting them and really is 42 cents going to kill anyone for a stamp? I just want to point out that it's not like the post office makes money, they're in the red almost every year. The post office has teh largest fleet of vehicles of any company in america, can you even imagine what their gas bill is like? Sorry, my mom is a carrier and I hate how she gets so much flack everytime the stamps go up. People accuse her of getting a raise from it or raising the price just to screw with people. Like she has anything to do with it. Being a mail carrier is a thankless job! But I do my part to help my mom with her job security but always sending fun cards for holidays!
