Su Casa: A Master Suite Remodel

Here's a post from CasaSugar Community member Angie Ohman from the Su Casa group:

Master BathroomWe recently remodeled our master bedroom/bathroom. (Actually, we're remodeling the whole house, but this is finished!) I wish I had before photos. You wouldn't believe it. This bathroom used to be a very small green-tiled room from the 1950s! You know, the ones that look like a closet (toilet and bath in line with each other and a shower in the tub.) I don't know how my boyfriend got all this space; it's such a tiny house. He busted out two linen closets and my bedroom closet, and built on five feet. Quite the undertaking! Oh yeah, he also raised the ceiling in the middle.

I know it's a bit dark, but I think it makes it feel like a spa!! It's hard to tell the color of tiles: they're an earthy, brownish gray. Hard to describe. It also has slate tile and floor. Not sure if you can tell from this photo, but there is a sunken Jacuzzi tub with a bridge across it leading to the outside. That glass wall completely opens! Also, to the left of the tub is a glass-enclosed shower/steam room with benches.

Continue to see more photos, and hear more details!

Almost a "before" shot! You can see the old tile and vanity and old windows. (The guy standing is actually outside of the room in the new tub. The room ended where the tiles end.

New shower and toilet area!

Here is the sink area. To the left you can see a painting: that is our bedroom!

Master Bedroom:

Here is part of the master. It's larger — about double what you see. This is shot from the sitting area, which is outside of the bathroom. The section where the bed is was added on. We also added large doors that completely pocket to bring the outside in. We also added faux beams to give the illusion of height.

From the outside:

We're still putting all the final touches on everything on this section and continuing the renovation throughout the house. It's no fun living in a construction zone, but luckily I have my spa bathroom to retreat to!

Have you been doing any renovating lately? Be sure to share photos with the Su Casa group!

Holy smokes, that is quite the remodel! Don't think I've seen anything quite like it. Your yard/garden looks terrific as well. You say faux beams, are those the polyurethane kind like here: http://www.owtraditions.com ? They look so real.
